WELCOME TO BELLAIRE BELLES
2008-2009
We are so glad your
daughter will be part of the
Belles 2008/09 team. Belles is a
wonderful group to be involved
in during high school, providing
a source of fitness, fun and
friendships!
As a parent of a Belle,
you have an exciting year ahead
of you! The Belle season kicks
off with dance camp and an open
house in August, where your
Belle will perform. She will
also perform at football games.
The spring semester will bring
competitions both locally and at
Nationals in Hawaii with the
finale being the Spring Show in
May – which the girls perform
for the school and the parents.
She will also have the privilege
of attending Belle Ball, a
favorite of all Belles – a
formal evening of dinner,
dancing and awards.
Being a Belle requires
many things… uniforms,
participation, discipline and
hard work. It also requires a
financial commitment (this is
above and beyond the cost of
uniforms). During the fall,
each Belle is expected to raise
$400.00 for the team. This money
is used towards choreographers,
props, new costumes, competition
fees and Belle Ball.
Periodically a large competition
or performance trip is taken in
the spring and this year, the
team has qualified for Nationals
in Hawaii. This trip is optional
and special fundraising in
ongoing and will continue
throughout the summer and fall
to help offset the costs.
Now being a Belle parent
also requires many things.
Mostly that you support your
daughter in this endeavor! First
and foremost, get involved in
the Belles Booster Club. It
provides the organized support
for the team throughout the year
and in order to accomplish
everything, volunteer support is
necessary. Each family will be
required to help in at least one
area per year. To indicate what
works best for your family,
please complete and return the
enclosed talent survey. Next,
show your support of your Belle
when they perform. Get Bellaire
apparel and wear it to the games
and watch your Belle dance. We
love to sit together and cheer
our Belles on! Clear your
calendar on a Thursday or Friday
at lunch at 11:30 during the
school year and volunteer to
sell Taco Bell and BHS apparel.
This is a Booster Club
fundraiser for the Belles – it
is great fun and allows you a
glimpse into your daughter’s
life at Bellaire. Lastly,
recognize that there is a
required financial commitment to
the Belles and help your
daughter FULFILL it!

vital to provide the many
enriching opportunities
available for the team

Volunteer Opportunities
Taco Bell Sales –
Volunteer as schedule
permits to help sell
food for about 30-45
minutes. Sales are
Thursdays during lunch
and the time is usually
from 11:25 until noon
(except on early
dismissal and testing
days.) For more

Spirit Wear Sales

Volunteer as schedule
permits to help sell
spirit wear. The time
commitment varies
depending on when and
where you are selling.
Lunch sales are usually
on Fridays from
11:15am-12:30pm. Sales
also take place at
parent open house,
freshman registrations,
cardinal camp, football
games & other Bellaire
sporting events. For
